What does an AI consultant actually do for a small or mid-sized business?
+
The useful version of the job is not recommending tools. It is diagnosing one workflow where AI can genuinely remove work, building a governed system around it (people, agents, context and governance), and training your team to run it without me. The output is a workflow that takes less time and can be trusted, not a slide deck.
What is the AI Reality Check?
+
A focused, evidence-led review of one function or workflow in your business. You get a four-layer scorecard (people, agents, context, governance), an opportunity map, a prioritised roadmap and an executive summary. The standard fixed fee is £1,950. The amount you pay is credited against a Governed Workflow Sprint commissioned within 60 days.
How long does the AI Reality Check take?
+
Around two weeks. Long enough to gather real evidence from the people doing the work, short enough that the findings are still true when you act on them.
Do we need to have AI tools already in place?
+
No. Arriving before the tools are bought is often better, because the most expensive mistake in AI adoption is buying the tool before understanding the job. If you already have licences, the Reality Check will tell you honestly whether they are the right ones.
Where do you work?
+
I work with small and mid-sized businesses across the UK, remotely and on site. Most of the work — diagnosis, build, training — runs well remotely, with on-site sessions where they genuinely help.
How can AI actually help a small business?
+
Not by adding more tools. AI helps when it removes real work from one recurring workflow: quoting, reporting, customer replies, document handling, scheduling. The pattern that works is narrow and governed — one workflow, clear standards, human sign-off — measured by hours saved and errors avoided, not by how impressive the demo looks.
Is the AI Reality Check an AI readiness assessment?
+
Yes. In market terms it is an AI readiness assessment or AI audit, scoped to one function so the findings are specific enough to act on. It scores the function against people, agents, context and governance, and ends with a prioritised roadmap and an executive summary — evidence you own whether or not you build with me.
What makes this different from other AI consultancies?
+
I run my own business on the same methods I sell: AI agents doing bounded work, a maintained context layer, and governance gates before anything ships. The proof is not a case-study PDF; it is the way my own work gets done. And I will tell you when AI is the wrong answer.
What does AI Strategy Rebel cost?
+
The AI Reality Check is £1,950 fixed. A Governed Workflow Sprint starts at £9,000. Team Enablement is £1,500 for a tailored half-day or £2,750 for a full day. Prices exclude VAT where applicable. Software, licences, travel and other third-party costs are quoted separately before work begins.
How does the founding customer offer work?
+
The first five new customers pay a founding price of £1,250 instead of the £1,950 standard fee for the AI Reality Check. A place is booked when the statement of work is signed and the 50% deposit is paid. It is one place per business and applies to the Reality Check professional fee only. It cannot be combined with another discount. The offer ends when all five places are taken; there is no artificial countdown.
